My Background
Throughout my more than 35 years in private practice, I’ve come to realize that a conservative, thorough approach can go a long way toward helping patients control what they can and achieve the goals most important to them. These goals might include standing and walking with greater comfort, playing a sport that had long been abandoned or simply reasuming daily activities without pain.
I began my career at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark where I served as Chief Podiatric Resident in my second year. There, I oversaw the efforts of other residents and played a key role in selecting new candidates for the program. I also learned the importance of clinical responsibilities and providing care to patients who wouldn’t have otherwise had access to treatment. Over the years, I’ve managed the Outpatient Podiatry Clinic at Gladys Dickinson Healthcare Center in Newark, served as attending podiatrist at Newark Adult Day Care Facility and treated veterans and nursing home residents.
Recently, I traveled to Kenya where I treated members of the Masai tribe in remote clinics and in the field. I love what I do, and I’ve found that these additional activities have enhanced my ability to serve patients in my private practice.
That practice opened its doors in 1985 and I’m proud to have helped literally thousands of patients leave my office in greater comfort than when they entered it. I am a member of the Podiatric Honor Society and in 2014, 2015, and 2017 I was named one of America’s Best Podiatrists by the National Consumers Advisory Boards, and have been nominated for this year.
A graduate of Rutgers University, I recieved my podiatric training at New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where I graduated cum laude. Outside the office, I enjoy origami, gem cutting, guitar, not to mention spending time with my wife Louise, our two grown sons, and adorable grandchildren.
